It's not about sex, but raising children in a happy home. That's why it's not uncommon for members of monogamous species to choose same-sex life partners. In monogamous species, it's not about sex, but rather caring for one another and being their for each other. In monogamous species (parrots, humans, albatross, etc.), puberty is a time not for necessarily reproducing, but for trying to find the perfect partner to spend your life with and raise healthy offspring with. Evolutionarily speaking, when animals (including humans) hit puberty, they are able to have offspring and their raging hormones tell them to start looking for mates. Ignoring such a fact would make this show less relevant to REAL kids and might even make kids think these strange new feelings they're having are weird or something to be ashamed of. The show doesn't try to hide the fact that people, including adolescents, have crushes or go through puberty. This show is aimed at kids who are approaching or going through puberty. This show, first and foremost, does not glorify dating, marriage, or having kids or anything like that (unlike The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Shrek, Brave, How to Tame Your Dragon, etc., most of which are aimed at five year olds).

Well, let me say that this show is one of the best animated shows that I've ever seen.įirst, let's talk about complaints concerning "sexuality". Now, a LOT of people have given this show poor reviews after only seeing a few minutes of it, despite always telling their children not to "judge a book by its cover".
